By the way, avoid selling your own product at this point. If you're an ordinary "9 to 5" guy or gal whose looking to earn money from home in this industry, you are likely to suffer from "information overwhelm". You'll find yourself saddled with too many tasks which will all be new to you, and you will get bogged down trying to figure it all out at once.
4. "But I have no website!"
To earn money through an affiliate marketing plan, you don't even have to come up with your own webpage-- you just use the one provided for you, unless, of course, the affiliate page is truly awful. In that case, talk with the vendor about getting permission to have a page designed for you by a professional.
5. Cheap traffic
Once you are set up as an affiliate for a suitable product you need to drive traffic to that site to get some sales. I recommend articles and forums to start with. This is free traffic-- you talk about your product, service or niche, and use links to get folks to the sales page, where hopefully you may see your first sales and start making a few dollars.
6. OK... NOW you can have your own site (and start making REAL money)
Only when you have started to actually make some money as an affiliate reseller should you consider putting up your own site. And, again, because you are still relatively new, I strongly suggest you outsource this task. The purpose of having your own site is two-fold. First, you can talk about your niche, product or service in articles you post on your site, as in a blog, and second, you can invite folks to sign up for a free email list.
Of course you will continue to have links to your affiliate sales page, but now you are trying to establish a little authority in your area of increasing expertise. By having people following you on a blog, and by developing that all important subscriber list, you are now on the way to creating a real online business.
